The Business Development Manager works most directly with a VP, Business Development to connect with prospects, build relationships and develop business opportunities for the organization based on proactive outreach, intelligent follow-up, and strategic proposal development to excite and entice new partners.


- generate tailored proposals to RFPs / RFI's and refine the overall RFP response process

- support VP in the relationship building efforts with potential prospects

- develop sales and marketing materials including case studies, best practices, one-pagers

- collaborate with CBX subject matter experts / discipline heads to drive proposal efforts

- manage client contact database, including the scheduling and tracking of new presentations

- create / compile compelling outreach materials to engage clients or support senior leaders

- analyze and report weekly activities to track progress / success against CBX database

- support VP in the calendarization and close of new opportunities in any capacity required

- write and edit client correspondence to entice, excite, "hook", grow, or otherwise interest

- conduct daily research (print media) to uncover lead generation information against targets

- exposure to and participation in the development of effective services marketing strategy

- build senior level client / target relationships to be nurtured and strengthened over time

- resourceful, results oriented team player - business development is entirely a team sport

- excellent writer - major in english / history preferred with debate or theater experience

- effective multi-tasker, ability to thoughtfully manage team members and prospect needs

- competitive, must love winning.  hard worker with a focus on delivering against set goals
- sales experience is preferred (retail or otherwise), but not required in a relevant candidate

- fast, witty, funny, confident - ability to connect, make friends, have fun, and get work done
